Civil 3D
Civil 3D product introduction
Use BIM to deliver better civil infrastructure design.
AutoCAD Civil 3D designs better civil infrastructure
Autodesk Civil 3D Civil engineering design software supports BIM (Building Information Modeling) with comprehensive capabilities to improve drawing, design, and construction documentation.

AutoCAD Civil 3D is an industry-proven tool built for your specific project
Civil 3D functions support a variety of civil infrastructure projects, including railways, roads and highways, land development, airports, drainage, stormwater and domestic sewage, and civil structures.

Civil engineering design
Surface modeling
Terrain creation tools support a variety of surface data, including DEM, LiDAR (Laser Ranging System), SHP, and ground surveys. Handle large surfaces and gain insight into the terrain while creating dynamic analyses, labels, and documents. Get real-time feedback on design performance, such as earthwork volume, steep slopes, and drainage patterns.

Regrade
The terrain model maintains a dynamic relationship with related graph elements (such as feature lines, road models and slope grading objects). Use curved surfaces as references to create profiles, cross sections, and roads. Save time and minimize errors with automatic updates. Use powerful daylight and slope rate projection tools to generate surface models for many types of slope projection. Create surfaces with easy-to-use graphical and tabular slope processing tools.

Road design
Use road modeling capabilities to create intelligent models for road and highway designs and other transportation systems. Create surfaces, measure the amount of earthwork, the total number of materials, and vertical and cross sections. Select a linear road target from the AutoCAD external reference. Extract the entity from the road modeling. Define road transitions and elevation constraints directly using routes, profiles, survey features, factor lines, and AutoCAD multisegment lines.

Quickly create 3D road models
Build arbitrarily complex road models.
Rich library of road parts.
Visual check/dynamic update.

Road overlap analysis (bow)
Analysis of road bow structure under daylight conditions.

Road corners cleared
When road tangents intersect at corners and roads are created at fixed widths, the inner and outer corners of the road are automatically cleaned to improve modeling efficiency and accuracy.

Identify the best alternatives and quickly create the documentation needed for public hearings, agency reviews, and final layout approval.

Bridge modeling
Bridge module * Models Bridges and bridge components. Model the bridge for placement based on road geometry and surfaces, including deck, abutments, piers, supports and retaining walls. Extract strings (such as girder Bridges and retaining walls) to create Civil 3D profiles.

Geotechnical engineering modeling
Geotechnical Module simplifies the import and use of drilling data. Import the drill holes into AutoCAD Civil 3D. Create curved surfaces by drilling layers. Document drilling row.

Rail crossing layout
The Rail Layout module helps simplify the layout of railway tracks. Create a new route and switch graphs according to the switch directory.

Reality modeling
Create a point cloud using data from a LIDAR (Laser Ranging System) scan. Use point cloud tools to import and visualize point cloud information; Determine the point cloud style according to LAS classification, RGB, elevation and density; Use data to create surfaces, conduct site surveys, and digitize completion characteristics in civil engineering projects. Create Civil 3D surfaces from point cloud data.

Point cloud
Take advantage of enhanced AutoCAD tools, including point cloud object capture, point cloud crop status, and additional features of the point cloud Manager (display scan on/off buttons and areas applied in ReCap reality capture software and 3D scanning software). Re-create reference objects or insert other models. Attach a point cloud to a graph and use it as a guideline for drawing, changing the display, or applying color styles to distinguish between different elements.

Create surfaces from point cloud data
Create triangulation surfaces from point cloud files with ReCap reality capture and 3D scanning software. Form a surface from one or more point clouds. Select a specific region in the point cloud and then use the filtering options to map ground and non-ground points. Adjust the default distance between points to change the percentage of points to include in the surface.

Drawing and documentation
Road construction drawings
Road plane marking.
Dynamic batch cross section mapping.
Plan and profile are divided into sections.

Road cross and profile construction drawings
Cross duct tag.

Make production deliverables more efficiently
Plane and profile drawings are generated
Create plan/plane and profile/profile drawings by including multiple plan or profile drawings in a single drawing.

Pipe labels for cross profile and cross sectional drawings
Label the location of gravity and pressure pipes crossing routes or sampling lines on profile and cross sectional drawings. Label the cross section where the pressure pipe crosses the sampling line.

Cross sectional diagram control
Specify the cross section direction in the cross section diagram axis network. View cross-sectional views from left to right or right to left. Specify elevation values to enhance visibility in cross-sectional drawings.

Characteristic data of the road entity
The functionality of road entity extraction automatically correlates characteristic data and allows road entities to be dynamically linked to road changes. As a result, road entities can now include materials, classification codes, volumes, and details. You can use this information throughout the design workflow, including design work and construction planning.

Construction documentation
Generate construction drawings, including marked cross sectional drawings, profile and slope design, etc. Use style-based formatting to better maintain drawing standards while automating typical drawing operations. Using external references and data shortcuts to generate sketches of multiple drawings, this workflow uses only one model instance to create construction drawings. Synchronize construction drawings to reflect model changes.
Construction documents allow users to get comments directly from design objects and automatically update comments when the design changes. The software also responds to changes in drawing scale and view orientation, and updates labels when print scale changes or rotations occur in different viewports.

Drawing standard
Use a rich library of country-specific CAD styles to meet your civil drawing and documentation needs. Control colors, lines, contour increments, and labels by style. Use frameworks to customize your organization's styles and standards. Share drawing and design standards across organizations with style management tools.
Label the location of gravity and pressure pipes crossing routes or sampling lines on profile and cross sectional drawings.
Label the cross section where the pressure pipe crosses the sampling line.
Specify the cross section direction in the cross section diagram axis network.
View cross-sectional views from left to right or right to left.
Specify elevation values to enhance visibility in cross-sectional drawings.

Reports and forms
