Autodesk BIM technology helps solve critical civil, electromechanical, and infrastructure challenges
Housing construction and infrastructure are relatively common projects in the AEC industry, and China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau Zhejiang Company has implemented the application process of BIM technology to deal with many difficulties and challenges. For example, in the "Jianghehui" project, the BIM team of China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau Zhejiang Company gradually realized the creation of LOD 350~LOD 400 depth refined models under the high standards and high requirements of Hong Kong owners, combined with the use of fast model plug-ins of China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau, to create high-precision models in the most efficient and fast way, effectively shortening the creation time of BIM workflows, so as to help the project team process BIM models more efficiently. The project uses Autodesk BIM technology to accurately simulate more than 20 construction plans, avoiding large-scale on-site rework, and saving more than 43 days in total. Through the collision detection simulation, more than 200 optimization suggestions were put forward, and more than 30 effective changes were reduced. With precise workforce planning, resources are balanced and workforce peaks are effectively reduced.
In the "Cloud Computing Data Center Project", the BIM team of Zhejiang Branch of China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau flexibly used Autodesk solutions to implement all-round, all-professional, and whole-process application of BIM technology for construction deepening. Through multiple measures such as optimizing pipeline integration, establishing mechanical and electrical models, entering equipment information, formulating project models, and deducing process flows, detailed design drawings were finally issued to guide on-site construction. The DIPU modular prefabricated mode was used for construction, and BIM technology was used to deepen the design and split the main mechanical and electrical pipelines, walls and floors and other components to form prefabricated sections. Each prefabricated section is processed and manufactured in the factory to realize the digital assembly of the whole process.
In the Deqing UN Project, the project team applied a total BIM solution and workflow, including Autodesk Revit software, to solve problems including complex modeling, professional integration, and collision conflicts, including the most common soft and hard collisions, clearance analysis and time conflicts, etc., effectively avoiding risks. Among them, the Revit+Dynamo toolset helped the project team better handle the complex shape of the hyperboloid in 3D space, so that the spherical roof structure in the project could be positioned more accurately. The steel detailing of the project was carried out with Advance Steel to improve the accuracy of the steel model. According to incomplete estimates, BIM technology used for detailed design and overrun countermeasures could save the project more than 35 days.

Deng Chenglai, chief engineer of Zhejiang Company of China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau, concluded that the solution based on BIM technology can realize the effective detection of the project, find the "unreasonable" situation in the design in time, and cooperate with multiple types of work to deepen and optimize collaborative work, avoid many problems, and reduce unnecessary losses. In addition, in terms of optimizing the layout and expanding the use of space, BIM technology can also intuitively comprehensively arrange and optimize the electromechanical pipelines, simulate construction and construction, and save costs. At the same time, the parametric function in the BIM software is used to improve the efficiency of model creation and provide data support for the construction of prefabricated buildings. At the same time, it also provides a platform foundation for informatization and intelligent operation and maintenance and facility management in the later stage.

Inventor+Revit solves the surface modeling challenge
The Shaoxing Second Ring North Road Smart Expressway Project is a supporting facility project for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, and it is also the first batch of municipal viaduct prefabricated and assembly projects in Zhejiang Province, with a total length of about 11.6km.
The on-ramp on the elevated road creates a hyperboloid spatial curve when connecting the main bridge deck to the ground, which is very difficult to express and difficult to fully meet the needs of modeling with Revit alone. At the same time, for large projects with strict deadlines and efficiency, it takes a lot of time and effort to achieve the hyperboloid effect manually, and the final result is not satisfactory. In order to improve the quality of the model and improve the work efficiency, the project team finally used Inventor software to make up for the shortcomings of Revit software's modeling capabilities. The result is a complete solution that works seamlessly with the two softwares. Compared to Revit's time-consuming and laborious task of stretching the face shape in segments by adjusting and editing points one by one through the slab editing shape feature, Inventor can easily and quickly create a smooth 3D space surface model of the bridge on/off ramp.
In the application of the Second Ring North Road Project and the Kezhu Expressway Project, the BIM team of China Construction Eighth Bureau Zhejiang Company has also discovered its innovative application points in continuous exploration. Inventor software can be used to simulate the overall assembly and assembly of the bridge.
By learning Xi spatial curves and surfaces in Inventor, you can quickly generate 3D solid models of space with hyperbolic effects, which enables engineers to solve the problem of building up and down ramps and bridge deck models with centripetal angles in elevated overpasses. At the same time, the stress analysis function in the Inventor software can also be used to calculate and analyze the forces on the bridge substructure, i.e. piers and cap beams, to verify their loads and bearing capacity.

InfraWorks+Civil 3D+Vehicle Tracking powers BIM applications for roads and supporting terrain
In the project of Shaoxing Beihuan 2nd Road and the east-west extension section (Jingshui Road-Yuexing Road) smart expressway project (Jingshui Road to Yuedong Road), the supporting ground roads and surrounding terrain are the key technical difficulties. The BIM team at China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau Zhejiang used InfraWorks software to scrape data from Bing Maps and quickly build a terrain model. At the same time, according to the existing hydrological conditions, the current situation of the road and the surrounding structures, the pre-construction scheme was simulated, and a BIM model of the elevated loop around the river was created.
In addition, during the deepening of the road and terrain, the BIM team also used Civil 3D software to refine the project's supporting topography and routes based on elevation points or contour lines to generate profiles. The assembly is then carried out, the corridor model is built, and the section is generated. Finally, the amount of earth excavation is accurately calculated by grading.
In addition, the BIM team of China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau Zhejiang Company also used Vehicle Tracking's skills in vehicle trajectory path sweep analysis on the road created by Civil 3D to verify that the turning radius of the road meets the requirements of large vehicles to pass. At the same time, the roundabout (roundabout) of the road is refined and the vehicle travel scheme is simulated.
